Children's Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 12, 2026 · Draft pending legal review
LifeReps helps kids practice everyday conversations with an AI voice partner. This notice is for parents and guardians. It explains, in plain words, what we collect about your child, how we use it, and the choices you have. A child can't use LifeReps unless a parent or guardian has created an account and given permission for that child.
Who we are
LifeReps is operated by [LifeReps legal entity name], [mailing address]. Email: hello@mylifereps.com.
How children use LifeReps
Children don't create their own accounts, and they don't need an email address. A parent creates the account, adds each child, and gives permission for each child. The child then practices by calling the LifeReps number from a phone the parent has added, or by tapping Start in the browser on the parent's signed-in account.
Children can't post anything publicly, message other users, or see other families' information. There are no ads in LifeReps.
What we collect about your child
- From you, the parent: your child's nickname, age and grade, and (if you choose) your child's own phone number so their calls can be recognized.
- During a practice call: your child's voice. It's processed live so the practice partner can listen and reply.
- A temporary text transcript of the call. We use it only to write feedback.
- The results of each Rep: which situation and level, when it happened, whether it was by phone or browser, the five skill ratings, and short written feedback (what went well, what to practice next, and an example phrase).
- Safety flags: if a call contains something that suggests a child may be at risk, we save a short note that a concern was flagged, and the reason category. We don't save the transcript with it.
- For calls by phone, the phone number the call comes from, so we can match the call to the right child.
We don't ask children for their full name, email, address, photos or location. The practice partner is told to use only the nickname when it speaks — it never learns the child's full name.
Why we use it
- To run the practice conversation (the partner uses your child's nickname and the level you picked).
- To write feedback and show progress to you and your child.
- To notice and review possible safety concerns.
- To keep the service working, secure and fair (for example, the monthly practice limits).
We don't sell children's information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to build profiles for anyone else.
Who helps us (service providers)
These companies process information only to provide their service to LifeReps, under their agreements with us. They are not allowed to use your child's information for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they do for LifeReps |
|---|---|
| Lovable (Lovable Cloud) | Hosts the website and app, runs our servers, and stores our database and sign-in accounts. |
| Vapi | Runs the practice voice calls, by phone or in the browser. It converts speech to text and text to speech, and connects the AI practice partner. Vapi uses its own sub-processors for this, including Soniox (speech-to-text) and OpenAI (the model that plays the practice partner). |
| Lovable AI (using a Google Gemini model) | Reads the temporary call transcript and writes the skill ratings and feedback. |
| Stripe | Processes subscription payments. We never see or store full card numbers. |
| Only if a parent chooses "Continue with Google" to sign in. | |
| Lovable Emails | Sends account and service emails to parents (for example, sign-in links and consent confirmations). |
We share only what each one needs. The voice partner receives your child's nickname, the practice level, and of course the conversation itself. It does not receive your child's age, grade, or your account details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect a child's safety.
How long we keep it
- Call audio: LifeReps doesn't record or store call audio. We've configured our voice provider not to record calls or keep transcripts; it may keep basic call metadata (time, length, cost) for billing.
- Transcripts: deleted from LifeReps as soon as feedback is ready, or within about an hour if feedback can't be created.
- Skill ratings, feedback and Rep history: kept until you delete the child or your account, so you can see progress over time.
- Safety flags: kept with the child's profile until you delete the child or your account.
- Consent records: kept for as long as the child's profile exists, so we can show when and how permission was given.
- When you delete a child or your account, we remove that information from our active systems right away. Payment records stay with Stripe as the law requires.
Your rights as a parent
- Review the information we have about your child — it's all in your account (Progress, Recent Reps and Account → Children).
- Download a copy of your household's data from Account → Privacy & data.
- Correct your child's nickname, age, grade or phone number in Account → Children.
- Delete a child's profile (Account → Children) or your whole account (Account → Privacy & data).
- Refuse further collection or revoke consent for a child at any time in Account → Privacy & data. Your child can't start new Reps after that.
- Ask us anything, or ask us to do any of the above for you, at hello@mylifereps.com.
We'll answer emailed requests within a reasonable time, and we may ask you to confirm you're the account holder first.
How we get your permission
When you add a child, we show you this notice and ask you to confirm that you're the child's parent or legal guardian and 18 or older, and to agree to how we use your child's information. We keep a record of when you agreed and which version of this notice you saw.
We may also email you a link to confirm your permission. When that step is turned on, your child can practice once you click the link.
Keeping information safe
Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people and systems that need it, and each family can only see its own children. See the Data Retention & Security section of our Privacy Policy for more.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use children's information in a meaningful way, we'll tell you and ask for your permission again before the change applies to your child.
